FOX Factory, Inc., a fast-growing and dynamic company in Gainesville, GA (30504) has an exciting opportunity for a Machine Shop Manager.
As a key member of the FOX team, the Machine Shop Manager leads and manages the day-to-day machining production operations for the Fox Factory, Georgia facility. Responsible for overall shop management and production scheduling as well as leading the existing team of machinists across four (4) shifts.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Responsible for overall management of production activities and achieving production targets with required quality, cost, yield and on time delivery.
Works with management and customers to help provide crucial input on design for manufacturing.
Responsible for development and implementation of appropriate cost control and cost reduction initiatives within responsible functions.
Responsible for department planning and coordination of scheduling.
Responsible for Implementation of SPC in critical areas to improve and sustain process capabilities.
Works with the Director of Machining Operations in planning for new product development process, selection of machines, tools, fixtures, and inspection methods.
Responsible for ensuring strict adherence of all company manufacturing standards/methods and policies.
Responsible for development, justification, and implementation of continuous process improvement initiatives in quality, productivity, efficiency, capacity and safety.
Implements and develops manufacturing processes and departmental SOPs.
Practices and Maintains 5S standards in the workplace.
Manages staff selection, performance, development and training processes to ensure team competencies and capabilities to reach the business goals and expectations
Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance
Other responsibilities as assigned
BS Manufacturing Engineering Degree preferred.
Five to Ten years of experience in manager role.
Must have hands on experience with all types of manual machines (lathes/mills) and various CNC Machines.
Must have experience with machining of various materials, including aluminum and steel.
Must have experience setting up and running CNC Milling / Turning centers.
Requires knowledge on fixturing concepts for CNC milling & conventional machining processes.
Requires a strong background in CNC Programming and troubleshooting for 2-4 axis CNC Machining Centers.
Has firm understanding of GD&T.
Has working knowledge CNC programming and 2D and 3D program generation.
Possesses knowledge of hydraulic fixtures working mechanism and troubleshooting, cutting tools, speeds& feeds.
Must be able to identify tooling solutions best suited for each process so as to reduce cost per component. Requires knowledge in cost estimation for the manufacturing process. (Machine hour rate, part process cost etc.).
Experienced in implementing automation systems where appropriate to improve productivity and reduce labor expenses.
Must possess recognizable and demonstrable leadership skills, exercise good judgment, be well organized, and have excellent communication skills (verbal, written and interpersonal).
Must be computer proficient, including Microsoft Windows and Office software applications
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent customer service skills, with an advanced understanding of customer relationship building.
Strong proficiency with tools, systems, and procedures required to accomplish the job.
Prefer automotive experience
