The role of the Fleet and Production Manager/Mechanic will be responsible for the maintenance and transportation of vehicles housed in the Lions Automobilia Foundation Museum (LAF). Including assisting in storage area appearance, outside vehicle fabrication and paint jobs, schedule projects and assist with LAF events set up, tear down and automotive-related workshops. Also responsible for implementing and managing processes for continuous improvement to increase overall efficiency through minimizing waste and improving products and services in all the areas below.
Responsibilities:
Lions Speed Shop – Fab and Paint Shop, plus automotive parts
Communicate with Fab and Paint staff on scheduling and planning internal projects, ensuring processes are safe, efficient and materials are in stock. This includes assigned inter organization projects to LAF.
Purchasing materials for vehicle & shop projects.
Purchasing shop supplies and equipment as needed
Manage shop vendors
Managing upkeep in LAF back shop area and work in conjunction with neighboring organization and clients.
Source vendors and competitive pricing. Work with the Executive Director to help negotiate potential sponsored products and materials.
Schedule outside customers’ projects.

Provide back-up support to Fabrication and Paint & Body Departments as needed.
10 years’ preferred experience in the automotive aftermarket industry, including project builds and restoration shop operation.

Internal and outside service and repairs.
Manage vehicle maintenance logs
Manage placement and appearance of ALL vehicles on display and in storage.
Oversee vehicles appearance on display
Locate and repair vehicles leaks and clean up.
Vehicles to shows
Manage preparation of vehicles and equipment for events, and car shows
Clean & prep
Safety drive check
Check ALL fluid level.
Make sure insurance cards and registration in vehicles are current
Make sure all signage is ready for show
Stage Cars for Car Show Move out
Arrange and deliver vehicles as needed.
Manage prep for Vehicle Rental Service
Prepare vehicles for rental

Run smoothly
Check all fluid levels
Perform interior and exterior inspections prior to rental and return. Complete written documentation.
Ensure all documents are updated and included in vehicle if required
LAF Event responsibilities
Manage set up and tear down at events.
Maintain the appearance and safety of all event equipment
Assist in managing security at events
Work with vendor set up and tear down.
Assist with heavy lifting at events. Additional help, use of forklift etc.
Administrative Duties
Review and Turn in Team Time Sheets weekly to LAF Admin Dept for billing and PR.
Collect Customer information for LAF Admin. Dept. for billing and invoicing.
Receive orders, check order against packing slip and turn into LAF Admin. Dept.
Manage and reconcile vehicle and shop receipts prior to turning into LAF Admin. Dept.

Physical Requirements:
Mobility & Movement: Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb ladders, and operate vehicles and equipment safely throughout the day.
Lifting & Carrying: Capable of lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying up to 50 lbs. independently; heavier loads with assistance or mechanical aid.
Vision & Hearing: Close and distance vision for inspections and reading instruments; hearing sufficient for detecting mechanical noises and alarms.
Environmental Conditions: Exposure to shop environments with fumes, dust, grease, noise, and mechanical parts; occasional outdoor work in various weather conditions. PPE use required.
Endurance: Ability to work extended shifts, including evenings and weekends, and perform physical labor for 8–10 hours.
Other Requirements: Valid driver’s license; ability to safely operate forklifts, lifts, and related equipment.

The Lions Automobilia Foundation is proud to support Hot Rodders of Tomorrow, a Nationwide High School Engine Building Competition and host a competition in May at Lions. Lions recently introduced the Spark Plug Challenge, an opportunity for youth visiting Lions to learn how to change a spark plug.
