Dapper Lighting is a leading manufacturer of high-quality lighting solutions for classic and custom vehicles. We are looking for a Product Development Engineer to join our Las Vegas team.

In this role, you will primarily take original tail lights and headlights, 3D scan them, and develop accurate CAD models to create new versions for one-off or low-volume production. You will focus on ensuring files are well-organized, documented, and production-ready before handoff to our Manufacturing Engineer, who completes final CAD adjustments.

Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are critical. Our current challenges include rework and costly errors due to skipped steps and disorganized workflows. We need someone who can independently manage complex shapes and assemblies, follow consistent processes, and keep clear records of design revisions and project progress.

Key Responsibilities:

• 3D scan existing lighting components and prepare accurate 3D CAD models

• Reverse-engineer parts to develop new products while maintaining fit and finish

• Organize and maintain CAD files, drawings, and project documentation

• Collaborate remotely with the Manufacturing Engineer to finalize designs

• Follow structured workflows to ensure nothing is overlooked

• Support prototyping and low-volume production runs

• Troubleshoot fitment and design challenges independently

• Proficiency in SolidWorks (or comparable CAD software)

• 1–3 years of experience in product development, mechanical design, or manufacturing engineering (internships and school projects acceptable)

• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

• Familiarity with 3D scanning or willingness to learn

• Comfortable with hands-on work and occasional physical handling of parts

• Local to Las Vegas or willing to relocate (no relocation assistance)
