Product Data Specialist
The Product Data Specialist will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the accuracy, consistency, and usability of product data within our systems. This role involves working closely with our suppliers, data partners, internal data and technology teams, and internal databases to ensure product information is up-to-date, complete, and has been accurately optimized for use in wholesale and retail e-commerce platforms. The successful candidate will have a sharp eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a passion for accuracy in data management.
The IDEAL Candidate
You have excellent oral and written communication skills. Automotive interest or experience would be highly beneficial. They will have a strong working knowledge and capability with Microsoft Excel. They must enjoy working with technology and computers, and in a data-driven environment. This job will require the focus required to input and review data on a full-time basis. Lots of spreadsheet work!

Job Duties
- Organize, manage, and maintain product data across internal databases and systems.
- Ensure product data consistency and accuracy within industry standards PLUS ensure that AAM’s proprietary data enhancements are done accurately and promptly.
- Work closely with suppliers and manufacturers to obtain and update product specifications, images, descriptions, pricing, and other essential information.
- Perform data entry, cleanup, and validation tasks to ensure accurate and complete product listings.
- Collaborate with management, marketing, and web development teams to optimize product data for online visibility and usability.
- Monitor data discrepancies and resolve issues related to product information, including missing or incorrect data.
- Regularly verify that our data is properly categorized and is functioning as designed.
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines, prioritizing tasks effectively to meet company needs.
- Ensure all product data is up-to-date, accurate, and complete for successful implementation in our platforms.
- Identify data issues and work with cross-functional teams to resolve discrepancies or gaps.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Management, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 1+ years of experience in product data management, data entry, or similar roles (experience with automotive aftermarket data is a plus).
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve data discrepancies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to use formulas, pivot tables, and other advanced features for data analysis.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience with content management systems (CMS), data visualization tools, or product information management (PIM) software is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the automotive aftermarket or related industries.
- Knowledge of automotive parts and products, or experience working with technical product data.
- Experience working with large datasets and performing bulk data uploads/edits.
