Position Overview: As a Design Engineer at Artec Industries, you will be responsible for creating and refining designs for our new and existing product lines. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product development, manufacturing, and marketing, to ensure that our designs meet customer needs, industry standards, and our company’s rigorous quality expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop new products from concept to production using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks).
Refine existing products, enhancing performance, durability, and ease of manufacturing.
Collaborate with product development, production, and quality assurance teams to ensure product feasibility and manufacturability.
Conduct design reviews and testing to validate the functionality and performance of products.
Work with suppliers and manufacturing partners to oversee prototype production and testing.
Maintain and update engineering documentation, including BOMs, technical drawings, and product specifications.
Stay up-to-date on industry trends, technologies, and competitive products to drive innovation within the company.
Participate in project planning, timelines, and cost analysis for new product introductions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
3+ years of experience in product design and development, preferably in the automotive or off-road industry.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) for 3D modeling and technical drawings.
Strong knowledge of materials (e.g., steel, aluminum) and manufacturing processes (e.g., welding, CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication).
Familiarity with off-road vehicle components and systems is highly preferred.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach.
Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in FEA analysis and simulation tools.
Knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
Experience with 3D printing or prototyping tools.
