Designs, develops, tests, evaluates or modified products applying engineering principles.
Position Responsibilities:
· Conducts engineering studies on design for products, associated and subsystems components, and structures.
· Analyzes engineering proposals, process requirements, and related technical data pertaining to design.
· Uses computer-assisted engineering software and equipment.
· Analyzes data to determine feasibility of product proposal.
· Analyzes product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine designs that can be produced by existing manufacturing or processing facilities and methods.
· With guidance confers with research personnel to clarify or resolve problems and develops design.
· Plans and develops experimental test programs.
· Prevents or eliminates defects in new or existing products.
· Analyzes test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.
· With guidance may work with research and other engineering personnel to prepare design modifications as required.
· Studies engineering and technical publications to keep abreast of technological changes and developments in industry.
· Conducts analytical studies on engineering proposals to develop design for products, applicable, equipment, mechanical parts and mechanical functions associated with applicable subsystems components, and structures.
· Analyzes engineering proposals, process requirements, and related technical data pertaining to industrial manufacturing and parts design.
· Studies engineering and technical publications to keep abreast of technological changes and developments in industry.
· Assists in the development of preparations of product or system layout and detailed drawings and schematics.
· With guidance and direction works with suppliers and the procurement process from development start to hand off.

Position Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Design Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related area
Experience:
1+ years of experience in the product design field using engineering design tools

Vision abilities required to validate and enter data on computer
