The General Manager, Tunnel Equipment, will lead product strategy and direction for one of three key product lines at OPW Vehicle Wash Solutions in a fast-paced, innovative and customer-obsessed environment.
Reporting to the VP & GM for OPW VWS, the General Manager will oversee all Operations, Product Management, Technical Service, and strategic planning and execution for the OPW VWS Tunnel business, with a focus on managing an evolving sales/channel environment, deepening relationships with key customers and industry players, and ensuring a healthy funnel of future inorganic growth opportunities, and continued innovation of the business’ product and solution portfolio.
He/she will own the P&L responsibility for the portfolio of products and partner with the VWS Sales leader to ensure the financial objectives of the business are met. As a people leader, the BUM will develop a team that will meet and beat commercial and operations goals, with a mindset of ownership and accountability. Responsibilities
- Develop and communicate the long-term business and growth strategy and recommendations for a growth initiatives; gain team buy-in and leadership approval, and execute against the strategy;
- Meet assigned targets for profitable sales volume and other key financial performance objectives;
- Accelerate and energize commercial strategy, including product, positioning, pricing, and event/communications management that support long-term growth plans. Develop a detailed understanding of market size/growth and market share for product segments;
- Energize initiatives to identify potential acquisition strategies in adjacent products and technologies, enabling software, controls, and hardware bolt-ons to support a system or total solution;
- Provide direct leadership for Technical Service, Production, and Supply Chain functional leaders;
- Lead the evolution of digital presence to drive revenue growth through lead/demand-generation, e-commerce and configure-price-quote functionality;
- Establish annual operating plans, budgets, capital appropriations, and human capital plans to assure the most productive utilization of human, financial and capital resources. Drive financial results, manage costs, and maintain/increase enterprise profitability;
- Instill a customer-focused mindset and communicate with the customers and distribution channels, maintain close and regular contact with channel leadership, gain the voice of customer insight to drive new product development and innovation, and build a sense of energy and excitement within the channel for new vision and energy;
- Drive commercial excellence – lead, teach and implement Lean processes and best practices across application engineering, product development and customer service;
- Set the expectations and pace for talent selection, development, engagement, and performance management. Maximize the talent experience. Own the development of future leaders.
The General Manager, Tunnels should bring a broad-based commercial profile, with roles across strategy/marketing, product development, and exposure to channel and key-account go-to-market models. Candidates will also have:
- Demonstrated success in growing and transforming a business, both organically and through acquisition;
- Strong financial acumen – ability to build budgets, manage against operating statements and balance sheet, and drive an organization to meet and exceed set goals and objectives.
- Experience in a public company and an acute understanding of the quarterly pressure that comes with this;
- Experience leading digital growth initiatives – organic and inorganic – to create a broader solution offering and grow new revenue streams;
- Success managing a complex and evolving channel environment and forging strong relationships with leading channel partners as well as end-customers;
- Experience leading Operations or Technical Support teams preferred;
- Experience managing and growing a digital-front end to better communicate with customers and grow revenue;
- Excellent strategic leadership and communication skills with the ability to inspire, transform and achieve breakthrough results;
