Job Summary
The Human Resources Director is responsible for defining and leading the company’s HR strategy, as well the management and execution of all Human Resources services, policies, and programs for Legendary Companies. This position works closely with all levels of management across all divisions to develop a proactive, high performing and integrated human resources function.
The HR Director must be a strong leader and key business partner with a proven track record of building talent acquisition strategies, driving people development at all levels within the organization, and fostering a culture focused on employee performance, engagement, morale, and retention. This individual must be able to develop and sustain human resources programs that include but not limited to: performance management, organizational design & development, employee compensation & benefits, and employee wellness.
Essential Functions
- Define and develop overall Human Resources Strategy for all Legendary businesses.
- Oversee all functions of the Legendary Companies Human Resources department.
- Provide guidance to the management team on labor relations, employee communications and executing organizational changes in regards to legal requirements and overall impact to the organization.
- Lead company compliance with all existing governmental requirements including but not limited to the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), the Department of Labor, worker compensation, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and department of Transportation (DOT).
- Create standard recruiting and hiring practices that focus on sourcing high quality candidates for open positions. Focus on building a recruiting pipeline for both internal and external candidates.
- Develop and maintain Human Resources policies and programs that support the organization’s goals and objectives. Review established policies and programs for improvement opportunities.
- Foster an environment where employee safety, wellness, welfare, and health play a significant part in the workplace.
- Establish a company wage and salary structure. Conduct competitive market research annually for each division to identify pay requirements for talent recruiting and employee retention.
- Manage, negotiate, and oversee the administration of the company’s suite of benefit programs with an emphasis on being market competitive and cost effective.
- Interact and communicate with all levels within the organization by maintaining an open-door policy. Seek out opportunities to engage with other functional heads and with the employee base.
- Develop career paths for key business roles as well as training programs for all levels within the organization focused on associate development and future company needs.
- Develop an annual performance review process that drives goals and development opportunities aligned with overall corporate objectives and ties to employee performance.
- Promote a management culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, employee retention and development, and high performance.
- Maintain Human Resources recordkeeping system in both electronic and paper format as well as a filing and retrieval system for highly sensitive and confidential materials including employee and payroll information. Report information as needed.
- Provide M&A diligence for the HR function, and complete analysis of benefit normalization that appropriately values synergies/dis-synergies.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Professional Qualifications & Minimum Education Requirements |
The successful candidate’s qualifications will include:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college.
- Focus of study in one of the following: Human Resources Management, General Management or Business Administration.
- Master’s degree considered a plus.
- 7 years of experience in successfully managing the efforts of a Human Resources department responsible for multiple facilities.
- Goal driven self-starter with a consistent track record of promotion and results.
- Proven computer and software use skills. Advanced knowledge of MS Office suite, Power Point, Excel, and Microsoft Teams proficiency.
- Interpersonal, organizational, time management and leadership skills.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- The Human Resources Director position will be based in Chattanooga, TN, reporting directly to the President of Legendary Companies
- The individual in this position will spend several hours sitting and using office equipment and computers, which can cause muscle strain. He/she may also have to do some light to moderate lifting of supplies and materials from time to time.
- Unless other arrangements are made with supervisor, the individual in this position works a full-time schedule week during our open business hours. Position requires candidate to be available after hours and weekends.
- Up to 20% travel is expected for this position. A current U.S. Passport is required.
