The prep technician assists in the preparation of surfaces to be painted, paints show and concept cars. Willing to train and grow the right employee for more skilled positions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform preparation work prior to painting using a such as grinding, sanding, buffing and mask-off areas not to be painted using a DA.
Fill cavities and dents as necessary and surfaces repaired area to attain required finish
Cleans and prepares surface of articles to be painted using solvent, sandpaper and wire brush
Maintain clean and safe work environment
Positions articles in jigs or erects ladders or scaffolding
Perform other duties as assigned.
Background in paint and body repair, previous experience painting show and concept vehicles, with a minimum of 1 year hands-on experience. A High School or GED equivalent required. A certificate from an accredited technical or an industrial trade school is preferred. Needs to be a self-starter with proficiency in budgeting time.

Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
