Company seeks an ambitious, goal-oriented, deadline-driven, self-motivated, highly organized, and a great team player to be our next Frame Department Grinder. The Grinder is to perform specific tasks, including the grinding of frame parts to required performance/quality specifications, in order to help the Frames Team meet and exceed their daily WIP goals, while raising the overall quality of those products produced by the position.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Examine and feel surface of work piece for defects - Select grade of abrasive belt, wheel, or disk according to specifications, knowledge of abrasives, and condition of metal, and attached to grinder
Start grinder and move it over surface of work piece to remove excess weld material and burns
Polish ground areas with finer abrasive to produce smooth, unmarred surface - Replace worn abrasive disks, wheels, and belts
May perform MIG spot welds as necessary
Control the use of inventory in order to reduce cost of production.
Keep an accurate inventory count in your designated area(s) and report any discrepancy to Frames Supervisor
