An exciting role exists for an electrical/mechatronics engineer within the Powered Vehicles Group (PVG) Advanced Development Team at FOX. The Advanced Development Team creates, develops and implements new technologies for a range of FOX markets including motorcycles, off-road vehicles, ATVs, snowmobiles, automobiles and future transportation modes. The team also functions as a resource for technical capabilities such as computer simulation, data analysis and hardware/software/electronics prototyping for the overall organization. As a result, the Advance Technology Team works collaboratively with all PVG business groups. The candidate will be instrumental in the development of innovative concepts and next generation IP. Being part of a small team he or she must be a creative, forward thinker that is dedicated to advancing the technological capabilities of FOX. The candidate must also demonstrate a relevant and highly motivated work history. The successful candidate must also possess good mechanical aptitude and have a working understanding of mechanical design.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Developing computer model/simulations of vehicle suspension • Modeling vehicle dynamics • Control algorithm development • Data analysis and signal processing • Hardware in the loop testing • Electromechanical component/system design and implementation • Suspension component design • Creation of design drawings, blueprints and diagrams • Design/build prototypes and proof of concept technology demonstrators • Outfitting vehicles with data acquisition systems and analysis of collected data to verify performance
• BS or master’s in physics or Mechanical Engineering, master’s degree preferred • Minimum 4 years as a Mechanical Engineer or equivalent or Mechatronics • Knowledge of computer modeling/simulation • Experience with control systems and control algorithm development • Experience/understanding of vehicle dynamics • Familiarity with software tools such as MATLAB/Simulink • Familiarity with simulation software such as Car/Truck Sim, ADAMS • Outstanding communication and solid interpersonal skills • Self-starter
• Experience/ familiarity with any of the following is preferred: • Knowledge of electromechanical valves, actuators, motors and other components • Experience/ understanding of suspension/ shock design • Experience with mechanical design is heavily preferred • Experience with the implementation of sensors, transducers and data acquisition systems • Experience with embedded systems • Electronic circuit design • Control system design • Electronic component integration and testing • Knowledge and understanding of PCB design, fabrication and testing
