PRODUCTION MANAGER - POWER AUTOMEDIA / ALLOY STUDIOS
Power Automedia (www.powerautomedia.com) a leading digital media company in the automotive industry, has an opening for a Production Manager to work in our Video Production Division: Alloy Studios. This individual must be highly organized, practice solid time management, and have the ability to manage people, projects, and tasks at a high level. Automotive passion or interest is a must. This position is based in Temecula (Murrieta), California.

The Production Manager provides leadership and day to day oversight for a team of video production staff referred to as a “pod”. This pod consists of: Line Producer, a Production Assistant (reports to Line Producer), up to three Producers, and a team of DP/Editors under them (combination of 1099 and full-time employees). The Production Manager works hand in hand with the Executive Producer by focusing on the day to day outcomes of the pod. The Production Manager reports to the Executive Producer.
About the Job.
The essence of the job is to coordinate all of the moving parts that entail our list of video projects to keep them moving forward in a timely fashion. The Production Manager is specialized in contributing value to several key aspects of a production.
RFP, Concept Ideation, and Estimation: Works with the Executive Producer, as-needed, on responding to requests for proposals, the ideation of client concepts, and overall scope and budget estimation for prospective work. This responsibility will encompass both original content and white label projects.
Project Management of high value, unique, or sensitive projects.
Top Oversight of Pre-Production, Production, and Post:
Meeting the Line Producer, Producer, and other senior production staff to examine scripts or project ideas
Evaluating allocation of resources against the approved budget
Hiring crews and contractors, and negotiating rates of pay. Can work through the Line Producer, but you are ultimately responsible for beating a project’s budget.
Negotiating costs and approving the booking of resources, equipment and suppliers.
Overseeing location bookings and arranging any necessary permissions and risk assessments.
Work In Progress Review: The Production Manager is responsible for reviewing the status and next actions for all Work In Progress (WIP) assigned to their Project Manager and Line Producer.
Internal and Client Communication
Maintains accuracy of the production schedule.
Meeting Agendas: Works collaboratively with the Executive Producer and the Operations Director to develop department meeting and leadership meeting agendas.
Leadership Initiatives: A portion of the Production Manager’s bandwidth will be reserved for one-off company initiatives and task force related projects. In the event that special projects arise the Production Manager will regularly collaborate with the Executive Producer and Operations Manager in a task-force capacity to bring about improvement, refinement, and long term development of the division.
Exploratory and Client Resolution Calls: The Production Manager will be a key ambassador for the video production staff and the division. They can expect to be a part of initial concepting calls alongside their producer, relationship building calls with the Executive Producer and Sales Representative, and resolution calls alongside their Project Manager should any unforeseen challenges arise. Their main focus will be to provide creative edge and foster trust with our clients.
Skills & Experience:
Minimum of 5 Years Experience in video production as either a member of the creative or logistical team
