An enthusiastic / inspiring Supply Chain Director; responsible for the process leadership, team development and establishment of a process excellence culture within our supply chain management / procurement functions. Primary responsibilities include the support and achievement of our SD Wheel Strategic objectives for material cost management and inventory planning while maintaining a diversified supply base providing superior quality and delivery performance. This position is responsible for the on-going development of policies and procedures needed to improve our supply chain teams; ensuring compliance to all customer, legal, and internal business process standards and requirements.
Leadership of the SD Wheel Supply Chain teams; responsible for the development and execution of product procurement strategies to further optimize profitability and delivery effectiveness.
Develop, audit, and provide leadership over our supply chain / supplier base; ensuring that all sourcing, product development, and product / process quality standards are continually met.
Drive cost improvement in support of SD Wheel financial plan and annual improvement priorities.
Ensure supplier contracts & PO terms comply with SD Wheel standards and align with customer needs and requirements.
Support flawless new product launches; ensuring suppliers are prepared and ensuring the entire value stream process is well coordinated and seamless with all internal SD Wheel stakeholders.
Continually engage the suppliers to ensure SD Wheel has access to automotive industries latest innovations, products and process technologies.
Co-leadership of the Sales, Inventory and Operational Planning (SIOP) processes; aligning frequently with our SD Wheel Owners, VP’s and the Director of Warehousing and Logistics to optimize cost and delivery effectiveness while providing exceptional value to our customers.
Drive a culture of continuous improvement throughout the supply chain function – leading a focus on process excellence through use of a LEAN management system philosophy.
Provide process leadership and support for the NetSuite system; continually improving our procurement processes, systems and tools for use.
Exceptional communicator and team leader.
Ability to think on the fly and execute quickly to take advantage of opportunities and resolve issues.
Excellent analytical and strategic skill with the ability to see the big picture and the details.
Excellent data driven business judgment with strong financial acumen and very strong negotiation skills.
This position will oversee and provide leadership to our Strategic Buyer team, Order Fulfillment team and SD Wheel Product Development Manager.
This position will require moderate physical activity. Frequent periods of sitting / standing throughout the day should be expected. At times, heavy lifting is also required: up to 50 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday serving as primary work week. As required to support the needs of the business; weekend work hours could additionally be required.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Management, or related desired
Master’s degree & / or professional certification in Supply Chain a plus.
7-10 years’ experience in a procurement process leadership or supply chain management position desired (automotive supplier experience a plus)
Solid working knowledge of planning and purchasing systems and experience with system selection and implementation.
Solid working knowledge of LEAN Management principles and effective materials management processes desired
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets and ERP system functionality desired.
