The Marketing Private Brand Manager role will be responsible for developing the Private Brand strategy, executing that strategy and managing the Private Brand portfolio, including Positioning, Programs, Promotions, Pricing and Vendor Coordination. The individual will take specific action(s) needed to work closely with members of the sales and marketing group, and other functional areas, to help implement projects and programs that are consistent with the company’s business plan and growth strategy related to Private Brands. This position will also have P&L responsibility for the private brands product portfolio and specific NOD controlled or exclusive brands.
Act as the Voice of the Customer to the rest of the product team and company for private brands
Gain a deep understanding of—and driving—customer engagement with the private brand product line(s), throughout the product lifecycle (pre-adoption, post adoption/purchase, and after churning)
Document the business model: develop the future private brand product roadmap
Manage the distribution partner program for private brands
Develop requirements for vendors to identify and deliver private brand products – financial, marketing and sales deliverables
Responsible for the rollout of new products and promotions with appropriate collateral and sales tools, including both strategic and tactical deliverables
Maintain a calendar of events, announcements and publications for private brands.
Create business cases for the private brand product line(s) as needed
Ensure the appropriate communication channels, venues and mediums to communicate product announcements, company announcements, programs, promotions, etc. are available to meet business objectives for private brands
Drive customer product education to ensure improved engagement.
Support the field with appropriate sales collateral for the private brands portfolio
Generate custom Sales Reports, automating where possible
Work with Marketing Communications to collect customer information about private brands through customer surveys and interviews, and when available, analyze product usage data
Define measurements for the business results of the private brand portfolio
Responsible for analyzing market conditions and defining features or functions of products within the private brand portfolio.
Work with the Pricing Manager to develop pricing processes and practices appropriate to the private brand portfolio to maximize sales and competitiveness, while maintaining acceptable margin and profit levels for the portfolio.
Develop and Manage a library of private brand presentations and other business templates
Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and or Business and 5-7 years of related experience: or a combination of education and experience.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical and business information, and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Applications Skills: Ability to work in a Windows environment, to work with the Company’s business application and with standard current computer applications, such as MS WORD, PowerPoint and EXCEL spreadsheets
