The Director, Information Technology - PVG works as a key strategic liaison between business operations and IT team. This position will partner with assigned business unit leaders to plan new joint initiatives, evaluate proposals, and determine how they fit into business and IT capability roadmaps and priorities ultimately utilizing information technology for competitive advantage. He/She will think strategically by identifying business opportunities and the best-suited position within the organization. He/She will also ensure delivery of IT solutions that generate business value and confirm that the results are measured and communicated.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Liaise between assigned business units and IT communities to align the demands and priorities between these two groups. Owns several business relationships at the highest level and has team members dedicated to subsets of them.
Act as the principal technology advisor and architect for assigned business units. Engages other IT subject matter experts as needed.
Owns solution advice and driving decisions. Coaches team on solutioning work.
Owns partnering with relevant teams and coaching others to develop technology enablement roadmaps.
Conduct at least quarterly reviews for assigned business relationships covering accomplishments in previous quarter, work in queue, upcoming projects, and strategic roadmaps. Participate in team's sessions.
Collaborate with assigned business units to identify and develop true business value opportunities, understand their priorities and influence the decision on priorities, road map and timing of initiatives/deliverables.
Typically oversees 1-5 direct reports and is engaged in initiatives their teams are managing. May manage 1-2 large initiatives themselves across multiple business partners.
Partner with business and IT leaders to evaluate proposals, build business cases and plan new joint initiatives. Determine how they fit into business capability roadmaps and priorities.
Drives review and feedback on proposals for large initiatives. Owns building business cases for all assigned efforts and coaches team on building theirs. Oversees creation and maintenance of business capability and roadmap documents for team's assigned business units.
Gather high level business requirements regarding new solutions and enhancements to existing solutions. Owns gathering and documenting high level requirements for all assigned efforts. Coaches team on their efforts.
Owns project funding steps on assigned efforts. May be asked to describe and justify initiative at approval reviews. Coaches team on their coordination.
Collaborate with the Project Management Office on the intake process for candidate projects.
For owned large initiatives, enters demand into PMO intake site and updating as initiative progresses through discovery to funding to initiation. Ensures team is following timely process.
Work with business and IT to ensure expectations and effectiveness of each team is understood and developed through mutually agreed KPIs
Owns KPIs for assigned business units. Responsible for monthly updates back to IT group. Ensures team is meeting deadlines for updates.
Ensure business value from projects is understood and achieved through periodic follow-up and communication.
For assigned business units, in preparation for quarterly reviews assess implemented projects and measure value achievement where possible.
Bachelor's degree in business or IT discipline
Must have 5+ years’ experience with Oracle E-Business
15+ years of IT and/or business experience
Excellent collaboration, teamwork and relationship building skills across multiple levels and functions in the organization
