King Engine Bearings is looking for a Sales Manager who has the drive and initiative to devise and deliver our long-term market share ambitions with customers across North America. Reporting to the Executive VP, the position is responsible for the sales, as well as collaborating on marketing and distribution of all of King Engine Bearings products. Travel is required, and qualified applicants should have a background in market development and sales experience in the automotive aftermarket, engine parts and racing industry.
Execute (and modify/develop as necessary) a sales and marketing strategy that meets corporate growth objectives for the position’s targeted territory and customer base.
Strong focus on achieving and exceeding individual, team, and direct sales goals.
Develop new business and manage existing accounts by calling directly on senior buyers and top level executives and all major potential customers.
Provide timely, accurate and complete information/responses between the various customers and other internal departments.
Focus on revenue/profit improvement with established customers.
Manage and hold King’s current sales reps accountable to surpass sales goals. When/if necessary, find, hire and train new sales reps. Discipline and/or terminate sales reps who fail to meet goals.
Submit accurate territory forecasts within defined timeframe.
Review performance against forecast, providing reports to the Executive VP.
Monitor and evaluate the activities of competitors
Perpetually anticipate the needs of the customer base and the market place, and work toward reporting all necessary products, programs and policies from a Sales perspective, consistent with identified trends and needs.
Modify, monitor and (if necessary) develop programs for the territory. When necessary propose product pricing. Continuously analyze and control customer pricing to conform to established guidelines and report to VP any proposed changes.
Partner with internal Marketing counterparts to plan and execute territory customer co-op marketing activities.
Be on the road visiting customers 5-10 days of every month at minimum (approximately 25%-50%) in order to maintain relationships, grow business, and resolve issues.
Represent Company at trade shows to promote product and Company; be a true Brand Ambassador!
