The Director of Tax is responsible for initiating and implementing tax planning, monitoring industry issues, and analyzing legislative proposals to maximize global tax savings opportunities and contribute to shareholder value while fulfilling tax payment and reporting obligations. The Director of Tax also participates in developing tax controversy strategies and advocating the Company’s position in tax examinations. Compliance-related activities involve preparing forecasts, evaluating the tax effect and implications of business strategies and proposals, and leading FOX Factory’s accounting for income taxes, Sarbanes-Oxley, and transfer pricing processes.
Responsibilitiesinclude but not limited to:
Owns all aspects of US GAAP world-wide quarterly and annual tax accounting and reporting encompassing the global ASC 740 tax provision process, from planning and forecasting through calculations, recording, analysis and reporting. Analyze permanent/temporary differences, taxes payable, deferred rollforward/reconciliations, valuation allowances, and return to provision adjustments.
Identify and mitigate company risks and communicate areas of potential exposure to management. Analyze and document FIN 48/ASC 740-10 and FAS 5 reserves.
Identify and resolve GAAP technical tax accounting matters, including issue spotting, collaboration with the Accounting Group, consensus building with internal and external stakeholders, and quality documentation of conclusions.
Lead, supervise and transform the tax accounting processes and delivery schedule, including implementation and optimization of ONESOURCE. Maintain concurrent, audit-ready workpapers and financial records for all filings.
Analyze tax accounting and reporting requirements for business combinations and other major corporate transactions.
Ensure that the group's tax accounting processes, documentation and related systems are in compliance with Sarbanes Oxley internal control requirements.
Forecast ETR, cash taxes, and impacts of potential business activities.
Assist in identification, analysis and implementation of tax planning opportunities, including for U.S. tax reform, M&A transactions, and business initiatives.
Develop global tax strategies including transfer pricing. Coordinate transfer pricing studies to meet safe harbor documentation requirements.
Monitor tax credit and incentive programs to ensure compliance with requirements and provide guidance to management to maximize benefits.
Lead domestic income tax and SALT compliance process including the identification of potential tax saving opportunities.
Manage income tax audits and inquiries by governmental authorities.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting and / or Tax.
Minimum 12 years of experience in a combination of public accounting (Big 4 preferred) and multinational company (MNC) corporate tax departments.
Strong knowledge of ASC 740 and tax law.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize work, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
