Purpose of this Position
The goal for the VP of Sales is to lead National Speed's team of Performance Consultants at all National Speed locations, including Consultants in market locations and in our HQ office. Today, you will manage a team of 3 Consultants - in a matter of just a few years, you will likely manage a team of 30+ Consultants!
The purpose of this position is to ensure our Performance Consultants guide our customers to excellent experiences by providing outstanding consultation services. This role requires creativity, passion, and a strong mix of technical knowledge and sales leadership skills. Our Performance Consultants listen, ask questions, and find understanding on what our customers want out of their cars -- along the way, we educate, we guide, and we set expectations. We are problem solvers for our customers, and our Performance Consultants are the visionaries! Whether that problem is not enough power, not enough grip, or "this weird miss at 3,000rpm" -- we find excitement in helping a fellow enthusiast have more fun behind the wheel. It's a creative, personal, and relational process -- and it's extremely fulfilling!
How is this achieved?
Manage a 3+ person sales team that will likely grow to 10+ team members in the next 12-18 months and 30+ in the next few years
Develop a Sales plan intended to grow the company, increase sales effectiveness, and ensure great customer experiences across store locations
Work cross-functionally with Marketing to oversee the creation of audience segments and execution of hyper-targeted campaigns
Utilize an analytical mindset that allows for deeper understanding of individual, team, and segment level pipeline development and forecasting
Spearhead the rollout of new offerings, ensuring that Performance Consultants are adequately trained and confident to inspire confidence from our customers
Effectively communicate, formally and informally, up and down the organization
Contribute to all aspects of sales management administration (forecasting, call reviews, etc.)
Continual spot coaching, as well as organized sessions geared towards training members of the team on a professional and personal basis
Get in the trenches to strategize and help to move deals across the line with the team
Effectively identify, respond to, and solve problems – it is your responsibility to lead!
Required Skills & Experience
General performance automotive technical acumen
BA/BS or equivalent work experience
1+ years of sales/account management people leadership
Track record of success and achievement in sales and other pursuits
Experience in consultative/solution sales
Effective user of technology tools, including CRM, to improve sales performance (Salesforce experience a plus)
Ambitious sales leader committed to the success of his/her team
Exceptional credibility with previous team members and organizations
Strong track record of decisiveness and accountability in previous roles
Proven approach of providing servant leadership through emotional intelligence and grit
