This position is responsible for hands-on "hunting" for new business, in addition to leveraging the resources of the sales/customer service team to become more effective and efficient in managing the rapid growth of the Company as it approaches $10 million in sales.
The ideal candidate will be a process driven senior sales manager with a passion for business development and a demonstrable record of success in growing sales and leading a small team. He/she will also be an integral part of the Company's senior executive team along with the President and VP-Sales & Marketing. B2B sales experience in a small company environment a plus
Strategically identify and close new distributors and dealers in line with the company’s objectives and ideal customer profile. Help drive installer and consumer demand for new distribution partners directly and through internal team.
Manage and grow existing customers. Adapt new territory strategies as necessary. Build direct relationships with major accounts, and strategically grow smaller accounts into major accounts.
Work collaboratively with all departments to assure alignment in meeting customer and market needs.
Manage and lead the Sales team. Coach and mentor hunter and farmer activities based upon sales targets.
Oversee and maintain daily, weekly, monthly and yearly goals against targets for both the hunting and farming functions of the sales department.
Lead the sales forecasting function, playing an integral role in company projections as well as revisions as necessary, in conjunction with finance department.
Work with Marketing to evolve company communications such that they meet the needs of the customer buying process. Help create documentation, collateral and content as needed to support dealer needs.
Create and manage department budget.
Bring best practices to facilitate Company and department objectives. Be a change agent for streamlining team operations.
Prepare reports for management team, departments and customers as necessary.
A minimum of 5+ years managing a national sales organization. International experience a plus. Automotive aftermarket/high performance market experience preferred.
A proven track record in building and managing business development/sales teams.
