The Sales Manager, Aftermarket will oversee the company’s aftermarket parts sales operations.
The Sales Manager, Aftermarket is responsible for developing and growing the aftermarket parts operation into a profitable business unit that contributes to the company’s bottom line. Revology has developed a wide range of components and features that are applicable to the restoration, hot rod, and custom automotive segments. The key role of the Sales Manager, Aftermarket is to grow the business by releasing these components and features to the aftermarket.
Duties and Tasks Performed Critical to Success
Develop annual business plan for aftermarket parts
Analyze market trends and competitive activity to identify market opportunities
Develop, lead and train sales staff to ensure sales objectives are met
Manage business equation to optimize unit sales, revenue, and gross profit
Develop wholesale and retail channel strategy
Make recommendations to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of operations
The Sales Manager, Aftermarket will develop and grow the aftermarket parts business by acquiring a thorough understanding of market opportunities, including consumer needs and wants and competitive offerings, and balancing that with the company’s capabilities and resources to develop an optimized business equation that considers USPs, brand positioning, investment, revenue and gross profit.
Key Functional and Relational Responsibilities
Make recommendations to management on selling prices and promotional activity by monitoring costs, competition, and supply and demand
Work with the marketing team to develop marketing strategy, marketing mix, and product positioning
Participate in product strategy, market and product research and development requirements
Work with the engineering team to ensure aftermarket products meet customer requirements, including unique features, installation instructions and packaging
Provide product training to distributors and installers
Work with magazine publishers and editors on tech and installation articles
Relationships and Roles within the Company
The Sales Manager, Aftermarket will report directly to the CEO and will work closely with him, the Chief Engineer, and the Marketing Director to ensure all business metrics are achieved.
The candidate will have 3-5 years’ experience in an automotive aftermarket parts sales leadership role. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. He/she must have a working knowledge of all automotive systems. Experience with Ford components and systems is a plus.
