Speedway Motors is looking for a Senior Product Manager to act as a chief customer advocate for our custom business applications. Our ideal candidate will relish the opportunity to own the entire life cycle of our most critical software products from ideation to development, product release, and then maintenance and extension of existing products. Ideally, you possess a strong business acumen and technical expertise to facilitate your role of being a thought leader for the senior leadership team on prioritizing capabilities and product backlogs in accordance with customer needs, the company vision, strategies, business values, and dependencies.
A typical day would include reviewing customer feedback, identifying and communicating business requirements to technical and non-technical stakeholders, working with development team leaders to translate requirements into functional specifications, mentoring product managers and development team leaders, collaborating with internal subject matter experts across multiple departments, and critically evaluating the overall performance of software products and their respective product managers.
Now on to the meat and potatoes. We’ll want you to:
Manage internal and external customer experiences and champion the end user while owning critical Speedway Motors’ software product commitments and outcomes.
Identify new product opportunities and enhancements using a data driven approach (internal stakeholder and end user feedback, SWOT analysis and competitor analysis).
Maintain high-level product roadmaps and manage backlogs, milestones, and deliverables.
Develop and track high level KPI’s and share accountability for achieving product goals.
Develop and prioritize product proposal and user stories.
Manage and report the status on product feature and improvement projects and ensure the timely achievement of product milestones.
Establish and maintain positive relationships with Speedway Motors’ managers to ensure excellent information flow and feedback on process, policy and product changes.
Own and ensure the consistent, effective communication of product release schedules to stakeholders.
Collaborate with the UX design team to assist with the execution of product user tests and field research.
Provide thought leadership on product management processes and standards to ensure healthy growth of the product manager team.
Evaluate the performance of the product manager team, prepare and deliver performance reviews.
Now, here are the “must haves” HR wants you to know about:
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management, Communication, Marketing, Statistics or similar field and/or equivalent work experience.
Comprehensive understanding of software development and software product management best practices.
Comprehensive understanding of Agile Development Methodologies, including both Scrum and Kanban.
5-10 years of experience managing software products.
Strong independent decision-making, organizational, planning and problem-solving skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills to include experience presenting to and communicating with company executives.
