Our Automotive Aftermarket Sales Representative performs outside sales activities toward the achievement of established sales goals. This Automotive Sales Representative is responsible for business development, customer satisfaction, achievement of sales targets and successful execution of the revenue growth strategy for the assigned territory.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities for the Automotive Aftermarket Sales Representative:
Meet annual regional sales, margin, and expense objectives
Lead generation, qualification and account management through data mining to achieve annual regional sales, margin, and expense objectives
Execute aftermarket strategy with key distribution partners to include: Alliance, A.D.N., Federated, APA, Pronto, and The Group members
Identify, target, and implement strategies to secure new customers and place new product into existing customers
Utilize promotions, campaigns, trade shows and business contacts to seek out prospective accounts, introduce company and product, establishes and cultivates a contact, and analyze prospect's needs
Demonstrates ability to sell the solutions
Prepares quotations and proposals; follow up and negotiates terms; close transactions
Organize and conduct training sessions for customers; surveys market and competitive conditions; complete itineraries, expense, sales calls, leads and other related reports
Operates with entrepreneurial mindset seeking efficiency and effectiveness in business development, account ownership, delivering sales results and winning customer satisfaction
Work with Finance, Marketing, Logistics, and Sales personnel to ensure both customer and company objectives are met and to keep up to date on the status of current aftermarket sales transactions.
Provide competitive feedback to product teams on products, pricing, and promotions
Must be willing to travel up to 75% of the time
Bachelor’s degree or Equivalent Experience required
5+ years of experience with automotive aftermarket sales
Solid skills in Word, PowerPoint and Excel
Fundamental understanding and experience in business to business sales and marketing
Person must be self-starter, have a never give up attitude, and be capable of accepting rejection to meet demanding revenue and profit targets and secure sales
Must be willing and capable of working in an independent environment with little or no guidance
Working knowledge of Salesforce.com
Exceptional interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Individual must have excellent selling, writing, verbal presentation, planning, and time management skills
Strong skills in negotiation
Ability to influence and be persuasive
Ability to use strong competitive drive and determination
Must understand basic business principles to include: sales, margin, profit, return on investment, inventory turns and control
Ability to plan, develop and deliver technical presentations
