The Product Manager is responsible for the development of existing friction and brake related product lines, as well as, new number development and cataloging.
Essential Job Responsibilities and Duties:
Identifies new part numbers and applications to the brake product category.
Develops and maintains project timelines by working with engineering and production in order to develop and manufacture these parts in a manner equivalent to original equipment development (drawing development, determining engineering specifications) and assists the plants with tool design and development if necessary.
Determines package sizing, special packing requirements for loose components and initiates the bill of materials for the packaging and distribution team.
Prepares all data and documentation and ensure its accuracy for cataloging, sales team and customers. Will support the job function and the launch of new part numbers.
Develops and executes new part introductions for the customers and sales team based upon the goals and objectives that are set for the position.
Works with other team members to ensure that all 3rd party catalog systems are updated, accurate and distributed in advance of the catalog launch.
Develops competitive analysis and distributes the information to sales, catalog, and customers. Identify competitive positioning to optimize margins. Responsible for reviewing all competitor’s data and analyze the information based on company data. They will then need to keep those listed updated since all the customers and competitors are already doing this against our data/information.
Identifies cost reductions by working with engineering, packaging, manufacturing, sourcing, and coordinates the implementation of new processes and programs.
Established new parts in the system and parts set-up.
Work with SAP system and engineering databases to ensure data quality.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:
The work is performed in a typical office setting. The work is mostly sedentary.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Open office environment exists.
This position requires extensive communication with others internally to the company and with external customers and suppliers verbal and written.
Required to work additional hours to meet deadlines, as necessary. Equipment and Supporting Services: Basic Equipment needed is Computer and Desk Phone.
