Derive Systems, an industry leader in automotive technology, seeks a HD Calibration Engineer ready to lead in development of world class technology products.
As a Calibrator, you will be responsible for managing specific projects from design to completion. Working closely with Product Leads and Engineering Management, the Calibrator will research and develop new calibration methodologies across multiple platforms. The calibrations you develop will bring best in class products to the Automotive aftermarket. The ideal candidate will clearly deliver proven calibrations to the team, effectively communicate progress to stakeholders, and identify areas for improvement.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Research and develop new calibration methodologies for Heavy Duty division.
Works with QA to provide feedback of products when used for development.
Work with Tech Support to assist in diagnosing calibration issues, forming resolutions, and providing answers for advanced calibration questions.
Validate calibrations for fuel consumption, performance, emissions compliance, and safety.
Use knowledge of powertrain mechanics and calibration adjustment to develop solutions based on requirements.
Apply new found methodologies to other powertrain families and control systems.
Use knowledge of calibration manipulation to identify parameters for new control systems.
Lead and deliver calibration and control system projects on chassis dyno and in vehicle.
HS Diploma and 6 years of vehicle calibration or similar automotive experience OR HAS degree and 4 years of vehicle calibration or similar automotive experience OR BS degree in technical discipline and 2+ years of vehicle calibration experience
Understanding of dynamometer operation, safety, and limitations to equipment.
Technical understanding of OEM vehicle calibrations
Familiarity with engine operation and theory: understanding of engine and powertrain systems.
Class 8 Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
Self-motivated and high energy to apply towards working in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work with little supervision, and mentor junior engineers.
