Education/Training, Technician - Body Shop, Technician - Mechanical Repair
The College of Lake County has one tenure-track faculty position available that would have joint responsibility teaching in the Auto Collision Repair and Welding programs. The primary assignment is in the Auto Collision Repair department. Assignments will emphasize teaching in the automotive refinishing or structural repair areas of the collision repair industry.
a) An Associate’s Degree.
b) 5-year collision repair or related fieldwork experience within the last 7 years.
c) Current ASE-Collision or I-Car certification.
d) Candidate would have to make significant progress towards a bachelor’s degree within 3 years and/or significant progress towards completion of welding certification.
e) A commitment to the community college mission and to working with diverse student populations.
f) Reflecting departmental and institutional values, candidates are expected to have the ability to advance the Department’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.
g) Ability to work effectively and constructively with persons of diverse cultures, language groups, and abilities; demonstrate sensitivity to and ability to work with the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities; establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
