Product Manager The product manager is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining the company product line of fuel system parts. This position works closely with members of the marketing, sales, technical, and operations teams to ensure continuity in product offering and to achieve company goals.
Define key customer target segments and points of differentiation for our products via systematic market research and devise appropriate strategies to capitalize on those opportunities.
Develop and consistently communicate compelling brand positions and unique selling propositions.
Regularly perform pricing and competitive analysis by customer channel and recommends strategies to improve market position, improve quality or reduce costs.
Cultivate partnership marketing opportunities and identify new creative ways to leverage our brands' existing as well as new target partners to expand our consumer reach and reinforce brand positioning.
Manage and communicate sales information and product changes both internally and externally.
Develop and maintain product database with product specifications, artwork and catalog copy for distributer co-op advertising and programs.
Work closely with marketing to determine product marketing strategies and objectives.
Regularly review customer service inquiries to identify potential product problems and opportunities.
Work closely with product R&D to help prioritize product development and launches based on market research and potential sales.
Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining organization and timely completion of projects
Must be detail oriented
Demonstrates proficiency with computers, specifically in Microsoft Excel, Word and Internet search techniques
Professional appearance and demeanor
Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to work with various departments
Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form
Self-directed with the ability to work with little supervision
Flexible and cooperative in fulfilling all obligations
5+ years of product management experience; preferably in automobile parts manufacturing
Proven ability with the new product development process and new product launch success
